Welcome to Dutch Harbor! I've been here for several months now and I'm still in awe of the jaw dropping scenery and wildlife that are here. My coworkers and I were halibut fishing in September and found ourselves surrounded by several pods of humpback whales feeding. It was absolutely incredible and I felt so helpless trying to capture the magic of the moment. The tundra is changing from its deep green to its yellow, orange, and red fall colors. Here in a couple of weeks I'm expecting to see the first bits of snow on top of the mountains. Because of how dynamic the weather is, there is almost always good photographic conditions for moody shots. I will never see as many sunbeams and sucker holes like I've seen here. I've been fairly successful in capturing those and I've included a couple. Hope you are well!
